Re-gaining the trust of business – top topic of the Round Table on tax system improvement

On September 5, a Round Table on the improvement of the tax system took place. The event was chaired by Nina Yuzhanina, the head of the Parliamentary committee for customs and tax policy. The Round Table was attended by Deputy Minister of Finance Yevgeniy Kapinus as well as by MPs, representatives of SFS and business, experts.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss key issues related to the improvement of the tax system in Ukraine. The participants expressed support for the further reform of the State Fiscal Service and improvement of its cooperation with business. An important point of the agenda was the implementation of the united register for VAT refund. This mechanism must work in a transparent and fair way. Also, the participants of the Round Table discussed possible ways for the de-shadowing of salaries.

The Ministry of Finance is now finalizing the draft law on the improvement of the tax system jointly with Nina Yuzhanina, MPs, experts and business community and is going to present it for a public discussion.

“We had an open dialogue with all stakeholders and did our best to consider all proposal meant to make life easier for business and to foster its development. Now we are finalizing the draft law to present its final version and to submit it to the Cabinet of Ministers”, Deputy Minister of Finance Yevgeniy Kapinus reported.

The Ministry of Finance has already had a number of meetings with business community, public and experts and presented the working draft of the document for comments and a public discussion.
