On November 15, following the proposal of the Ministry of Finance, the Government decided to amend the Customs Code and some other laws of Ukraine to reduce the number of controlling border authorities and to simplify border control procedures.
What’s it about?
To optimize the operation of controlling authorities at the state border of Ukraine, the Ministry of Finance has prepared draft laws to reform the system of ecological and radiology control at border checkpoints.
According to these draft regulations, the ecological and radiology control at the border shall be delegated to the State Fiscal Service and the State Border Service (ecological control – to the SFS, radiology control – to the State Border Service).
What is the benefit?
The adoption of the draft laws would be an important step in removing the existing barriers for the use of the “one-stop” procedure and would pave the way for the implementation of European standards in state control procedures relate to international trade activities.
Also, these regulations would reduce time consumption for the border control formalities and make them simpler without affecting the security component.
If adopted, these draft laws would have a positive impact and boost international trade.
