Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina will intensify their customs cooperation. Following the proposal of the Ministry of Finance, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved the draft of the intergovernmental agreement with Bosnia and Herzegovina on mutual assistance in the customs area. Head of the State Fiscal Service Roman Nasirov was entitled to sign the agreement.
The agreement is aimed to establish bilateral cooperation between the customs authorities of Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as to provide mutual administrative assistance to prevent illegal actions which affect the economic interests of the two countries.
The draft agreement regulates the actions of the customs authorities of the two countries when processing assistance requests or self-initiated actions; it also settles procedures for the execution of such requests, transfer of customs documents etc.
The adoption of this agreement shall help Ukraine improve the cooperation of its customs authorities with their colleagues from other countries and thus expand capacities to tackle smuggling and corruption as well as enhance the effectiveness of the customs authorities.
