On July 5-6, Deputy Minister of Finance Yuriy Butsa who is in charge for European integration participated in the second meeting of the Committee for the Association of Ukraine and the EU. The agenda of the meeting included economic affairs and other sectors of cooperation. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister for Economic Development and Trade and Ukrainian Trade Commissioner Nataliya Mykolska, Deputy Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers and Director of the Government Office for European Integration Nataliya Gnydyuk, Deputy Minister of Justice in charge for European integration Sergiy Petukhov, Head of the Main Department for Legal Policy at the Presidential Administration Kostyantyn Krasovsky and other government representatives.
Deputy Minister of Finance in charge for European integration Yuriy Butsa said in his speech that the Ministry of Finance is continuing its active cooperation with the European Commission, World Bank and SIGMA experts to review and update the strategy for public finance management and the corresponding action plan.
“We expect the review and update of the strategy for public finance management to be finalized by the end of September 2016. The meeting and discussion within the framework of the Association Committee Ukraine-EU pose a great opportunity to give a new impulse to this process, also involving international partners and non-government entities”, Yuriy Butsa said.
The Deputy Minister of Finance also informed that the Parliament of Ukraine should review and adopt a number of regulations as soon as possible for Ukraine to receive the next tranche for macro-financial stabilization from the EU. These regulations include legislation on the National Commission for the state regulation of energy supply and municipal services as well as on service in the local self-government bodies.
Yuriy Butsa assured the participants of the meeting that Ukraine is strongly interested in further cooperation with the EU in tax affairs and public funds management.
