Maxym Nefyodov won the competition for the post of Chairman of the State Customs Service of Ukraine

On June 25 the competition for the Chairman of the State Customs Service, which was held by the Commission of the Senior Public Servants, was finalized.

The presentation of the three final candidates was broadcasted publicly, where the finalists presented to the members of the Commission their program of development of the Customs Service, and then each of the applicants responded to questions from business representatives, members of the Parliament, experts and members of the Commission.

The results of the competition are the following:

• Eugene Garmash, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at the University of Customs and Finance, did not receive enough points for rating assessment;
• Andriy Savarets, head of the NGO "Center for the Development of Digital Economy", expert of the CASE Ukraine Center for Socio-Economic Research - 12.33 points;
• Maxym Nefyodov, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, - 16,97 points.

As a result of the evaluation of candidates, the Commission recommended that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appoint Maxym Nefyodov as the Chairman of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.Creating an efficient, transparent and free from corruption State Customs Service is the number one requirement from the business representatives and a key condition for accelerating economic growth. The Ministry of Finance assigns to the new head of the Customs Service ambitious task of creating in Ukraine a customs office wich will be in line with the EU standards.
