On July 13, Minister of Finance of Ukraine met Valdis Dombrovskis, Vice-President of the European Commission for the Euro and Social Dialogue.
The parties discussed the fulfillment of the conditions needed to receive the third tranche of macroeconomic assistance from the EU amounting EUR 600m as agreed in the Memorandum of Understanding between Ukraine and the EU.
Oleksandr Danyliuk pointed out that the next tranche of macroeconomic assistance would clearly confirm the EU’s strong commitment to comprehensive structural reforms which are being implemented by Ukraine and deliver a signal of trust and acknowledgement for Ukraine’s reform efforts.
Valdis Dombrovskis, on his side, emphasized how important it is for Ukraine to fulfill a number of requirements this year which the EU considers as still pending or as ones where the progress is not sufficient.
Oleksandr Danyliuk also informed the Vice-President of the European Commission about the current steps being taken by Ukraine to comply with the conditions for the next tranche of macroeconomic assistance and assured his counterpart that the Government of Ukraine will be doing its utmost to fulfill them.
