The Ministry of Finance has approved the indicative action plan for the preparation of the Budget Declaration for 2020–2022 and the draft state budget for 2020.
The action plan contains a list of procedures and steps of the budget process with approximate timelines, including the innovations of the budget process that entered into force following the signing of the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Budget Code of Ukraine (On the Legal Basis for the Implementation of Mid-Term Budget Planning)” by the President of Ukraine.
The switch to mid-term budget planning is the main budget reform of Ukraine. Thanks to the joint efforts of all Government members, the state budget has been prepared, adopted and executed on time for the last several years.
“We will be presenting the new Budget Declaration to the Cabinet of Ministers by May 15, we expect the Parliament to approve it before July 15 to have clear policy orientation and indicators and to be able to present the draft state budget on time – by September 15,” Minister of Finance Oksana Markarova said.
