On March 16, the report about the execution of the Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget for 2017” was presented in public at the Ministry of Finance.
The event was attended by the heads of all departments of the Ministry of Finance as well as representatives of the State Treasury Office, Accounting Court of Ukraine, Parliament’s budget committee, experts, citizens and media. At the presentation, Deputy Minister of Finance Sergiy Marchenko reported about the key macro-economic figures achieved in 2017, planned and actual budget figures in 2017 as well as about the structure of the budget expenses, dynamics of the budget revenues etc.
The key results of the state budget for 2017:
Budget deficit – lower than 2% of the GDP;
Defense and security spending - 5% of the GDP;
Significant increase of the minimum wage, living wage and other social welfare transfers;
Implementation of the pension reform and update of the pensions;
Support for citizens taking into account higher gas and heating tariffs;
Resumption of state capital investments.
