Today, the Ministry of Finance hosted the next meeting with representatives of the Trade-Union Federation of Ukraine and the heads of local trade unions to discuss the draft state budget for 2019 prior to its submission to the Parliament for the second reading.
Earlier, as part of the social dialogue, the Ministry of Finance had separate meetings with sector trade-unions to present the key figures of the draft budget for 2019 as well as to deal with proposals and critical remarks to the document.
Today’s meeting chaired by deputy Minister of Finance Yuriy Dzhyhyr took place in the format of a constructive dialogue to discuss the scale of the main state social standards and guarantees stipulated in the draft state budget for 2019 as well as the funding for education, healthcare, culture, public service etc. The Ministry of Finance is considering the proposals made by trade unions taking into account the financial capacities of the state, in order to present a well-balanced and realistic state budget for 2019.
The representatives of trade unions expressed their appreciation of this dialogue and the opportunity to express their proposals to the draft state budget for 2019.
The Ministry of Finance is ready to continue such open consultations to absorb proposals from all stakeholders concerning the main financial document of the country.
